Bulga tree-sit Diary Day 39!!
The clouds have parted again this morning, revealing a cartoonishly blue sky in their wake. The forest soundscape erupts and softens rhythmically through the hills that stretch across the horizon, each a different colour to the one before. I turn my head at random intervals and gleefully catch birds diving amongst the trees as though they timed it just for me. A trail of ants carries the carcass of a fallen beetle, at first disturbing and then beautiful. In a forest, life and death aren’t beginning and end, they are part of a circle, feeding each other in different and indispensable ways. I suppose it’s a product of ego, trying to separate oneself from that circle, trying to disturb it, but in straightening that circle out into a line, there is only one way things can end.
