“The enormous emotions as a guardian of the forests weigh heavy, but also as light as the swathes of mist clinging to the grey green hills, we are honoured to be here. “
Bulga tree-sit Diary day 56
The experience of a tree sitter can be physically and emotionally challenging. The platform is small, the size of a double bed. The trip to the top is a physical challenge in itself. The enormous emotions as a guardian of the forests weigh heavy, but also as light as the swathes of mist clinging to the grey green hills, we are honoured to be here.
The tree sitter may have to endure harsh weather conditions, including rain, wind, and cold. Ultimately, the goal of tree sitting is to draw attention to the issue of deforestation and to put pressure on companies and governments to adopt more sustainable practices. This diary is just a small tokin of our thoughts as we do this. Thankyou to all those trying to bring attention to deforestation!
While it can be a challenging experience, many activists feel that it is worth it to protect the planet for future generations. Direct action at its most direct!
