Supporters gathered outside Taree Courthouse to support Mitra, 22nd October 2024

Mitra was arrested on October 3, for attaching himself to the giant tree ‘harvesting’ machine. His actions stopped work for most of the day.

Today he appeared in court, as supporters gathered outside in appreciation of the collective efforts to protect these special places.

Bulga forest is one of only a handful of forests that, since the 2019 fires, are known to still host a healthy breeding population of Greater Gliders.

The NSW Government continues to subsidise the destruction of the endangered Greater Gliders and Koalas homes in Bulga State Forest.

Having tried letters, submissions, reports and lobbying to no avail, non-violent civil disobedience is the only option left to right-minded citizens who commit an offence to try and stop a bigger crime. A crime against future generations.
