News update August, 2024

Once again, Forestry Corporation have delayed logging in the Bulga Forest for a month, until September 30. This is good news for the Koalas and Greater Gliders who now have their young swinging around on their backs. They will still be too small to fend for themselves in September, and it’s outrageous that logging in their home ranges is even a thing!

Forestry Corporation have now done their Glider surveys. They found 2 den trees… to our 23! We are still waiting to see their logging plan, but expect as per usual, they and the EPA will collude to allow large parts of the logging ‘exclusion’ areas to be used as roads and tracks.

October 8-10 is the Global Nature Positive Summit in Sydney, so we need to raise hell and make sure the international delegates know that Nature Positive in NSW and Australia means destroying the homes of Australia’s endangered iconic animal species. In other words, their summit is just more talk and promises, while the bulldozers push on.
